Acrylic Enamels

Standard enamel powder bound and dispersed in a transparent, water emulsion of acrylic polymer resin. A multi-purpose artist's medium in brilliant colors. All colors can be intermixed. Paint thin or thick using brush, palette knife, spatula, etc. Dry one color and overpaint with a second or third and fire once. Use in combination with water colors enamels, crayon enamels, oxides, 80 mesh enamels. Good silk screen potential, water clean up. Rehydrates so you can use it all. Comes in 1/3 fl oz collapsible tubes. Use on a pre-enameled surface.

Water Color Enamel

For use on a clean oil free, vitreous surface. Colors can be used straight from the pan using water or a gum solution as the solvent; or the colors can be transferred, with the brush, to another pan where they can be further diluted or intermixed with other colors.

On white enameled steel tile 1450° F. firing for 2-1/2 to 3 minutes is a good starting point. On white enameled copper fire at 1400°-1450°F for 1-1/2 to 2 minutes or until glossy. Water colors will produce transparency and excellent gloss when fired appropriately.

Enamel Marking Crayons

For drawing or marking on any clean, oil free vitreous surface. Coating the surface with hair spray (Good results have been reported with Rave™) or with artist's spray mount also provide a tooth to the surface if you desire. Crayons are water soluble. When fired at 1300-1350° F. for 2 minutes they become insoluble in water and transparent enamels can then be applied on top using normal procedures. If preferred the fresh crayon can be dry dusted with transparent enamel and both fired at the same time.

On white enameled steel tile fire at1450° F. for 2-1/2 to 3 minutes. On white enameled copper either the temperature or the time may be reduced. The crayons are not formulated to gloss completely without a coat of enamel on top.

Underglaze Crayons

AMACO underglaze pastel crayons for decorating. Use on a mat surface and fire. Can be used on copper, gold, silver, 300 & 400 stainless steel, window glass and stained glass.

Metal Cleaner- Pickling Agents-Scalex

C-3 Sparex No.2 For cleaning copper and non-ferrous metals. A dry commercial compound to be mixed with water.

K-7 Tongs To remove items from the Sparex

C-4 Scalex Thompson's inhibitor for the prevention of scale formation on exposed metal surfaces as enameled items are being fired. Paint it on thin. Let it dry. Scalex falls off as fired items cool, exposing a clean metal surface. Sold in liquid form.

PB-1 Penny Brite Copper Cleaner Cleans copper without using acid. It rinses off using warm water. It has been specially formulated to clean copper, stainless steel and brass, comes with a sponge applicator. It cleans with no rubbing or buffing on tarnished copper. It requires scrubbing if you are trying to remove well adhering fire scale. It's formulated to be anti tarnish and contains no ammonia, chlorine, sulfuric acid or benzene derivatives. 7 oz recyclable container $4.65
